“At age 36, I am in detention for the 4th time, await another conviction and fear life with or without drugs, sickness, isolation and freedom.”
To date, Ulrike Möntmann met 25 imprisoned, drug-addicted women in European prisons in the context of her artistic research project parrhesia: the risky activity of speaking up and speaking out. This round table discussion sees experts in the field discuss the living conditions of these women inside and outside prisons and therapy facilities, their social marginalisation and the systemic failure to which they are exposed to.
